Below the Surface
Just so things don't get murky...
At Boat Experts, we don’t just cut through the noise — we stay above board. Transparency matters, so here’s exactly how we operate, who pays us (and who doesn’t), and why you can trust what we say. No fine print, no hidden deals — just the straight-up truth.
1. How We Make Money
We get paid in ways that don’t compromise our objectivity:
-
Buyer Advocacy & Negotiation Fees – Dealers pay us when we bring them a serious, qualified buyer who completes a deal. Buyers don’t pay a cent.
-
Independent Product Reviews – We may be paid to test a product, but never to say nice things about it. If something’s great, we’ll say so. If it’s rubbish, we’ll say that too.
-
Consulting & Speaking Engagements – We offer insider expertise to brands, dealerships, and boat shows, but that doesn’t buy our endorsement.
-
Giveaways & Sponsored Content – If we run a giveaway, the product may be provided to us, but the brand doesn’t get a say in what we say about it.
-
Affiliate Links (Maybe, But Rarely) – If we ever include links to gear we trust, we might earn a small commission — but only if it’s something we’d recommend anyway.
2. What We NEVER Do
Some things aren’t worth the money. Here’s what we’ll never accept:
❌ Paid Positive Reviews – Nobody can buy a good review from us — ever.
❌ Dealer Kickbacks That Skew Objectivity – We don’t steer buyers toward boats that aren’t a good fit just to make a buck.
❌ Exclusivity Agreements That Limit Buyer Choice – We work with multiple dealers and brands, not just one.
❌ Brand-Controlled Messaging – If a brand wants to dictate what we say, they can find someone else.
3. Our Promise to You
Whether you’re a buyer looking for the right boat, a dealer wanting serious leads, or a brand looking for an expert review — Boat Experts will always give it to you straight.
We’re here to empower buyers, not mislead them. That’s why we’re upfront about how we work, how we make money, and why we’ll never trade integrity for a quick payday.
Still have questions? Just ask—we’ve got nothing to hide.
